Who We Serve

  • Households living in unsafe or uninhabitable conditions
  • Individuals facing urgent home repair emergencies
  • Low-income households or those experiencing a documented financial crisis

Eligible Assistance

Eligible assistance may include:

  • Emergency heating system repairs (no heat)
  • Unsafe electrical repairs
  • Plumbing failures or loss of water
  • Major leaks or water damage
  • Sewage backup repairs
  • Other urgent repairs required to restore safe living conditions

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Urgent safety or habitability issue (e.g., no heat, unsafe wiring, plumbing failure)
  • Documented financial hardship
  • Required documentation provided
  • Repair must be for the applicant's primary residence
  • Repair must be necessary to restore safe living conditions

Documentation Requirements

Applicants may be required to provide:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Proof of income or hardship (pay stubs, benefits letter, tax documents)
  • Contractor estimate or invoice
  • Photos or documentation of the repair issue
  • Inspection report (if available)
  • Supporting crisis documentation (income loss, medical, emergency)
  • Any additional documentation required to verify eligibility

Program Limitations

What This Program Does Not Cover:

  • Non-emergency or cosmetic repairs
  • Ongoing or long-term home improvement projects
  • Repairs not related to safety or habitability
  • Payments made directly to applicants
  • Incomplete or unverifiable applications
  • Requests without documented repair need
  • Any costs restricted by funding sources

How Assistance is Provided

  • Payments are made directly to licensed contractors or property owners
  • Assistance is not provided directly to applicants unless specified by program guidelines
  • Payments are issued after all required documentation and verification are complete
  • All requests are subject to funding availability
